I loved this book from beginning to end! It was beautifully written and I thoroughly enjoyed going on Cree's experience. A must, must, must read!!!!
I found the premise of this story intriguing and managed to get a kindle copy, despite doing something odd to to the author's entry and not listing the kindle edition under the title. I hope this in process of being rectified.
As the outline states, Cree Quin attempts to salvage the head of a dead whale for a university biologist, who has lost her whale head, and earn the hundred thousand dollars needed to save his home from repossession, amid fears of also losing his family. The recession has hit hard for Cree and his adult goods business.
Unfortunately, in order to follow the story of the whale head one has to wade through an inordinate amount of back story and reminiscences. These are vitally necessary to the story, but they take up too much of it. Careful editing and shortening of these chapters and sections would have improved the flow of the story considerably. It is a still a worthwhile read, however, and is well written.
